James Forcier, President of The Westelcom Family of Companies has been awarded Businessperson of the Year. John Masella, Chamber Board President, presented The Joe Bornstein Award for Businessperson of the Year at the annual Plattsburgh/North Country Chamber of Commerce dinner. The event took place on January 17, at the Plattsburgh State University Angell Center.

“I was flabbergasted, I really was. This is a prestigious honor,” Mr. Forcier replied. In addition he accredited his success to his entire staff. “I’ve got the most dedicated and professional team working with me. My hat’s off to them”.

A huge supporter of North Country and Statewide business, James has spent much of his time serving on numerous boards, committees and charities. A sampling of his community dedication can be seen in his involvement with the Red Cross, United Way, SUNY Foundation, School Board, and Church Council. He currently serves on the boards for the North Country Chamber of Commerce, CVPH and OPASTCO, a National Telecommunications Organization, in which he is the outgoing President. Furthermore, he is acting Vice-President of the NYS Telecommunications Association and leads the Initial Attack Team for the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.
